I recently learned that this watch does not yet have an official name. It will sometime next year. This is a new version of the Ralph Lauren Sporting watch. It has an elm burl wood dial and face that is meant to evoke the interior of one of Ralph Lauren's cars from his personal collection - a 1938 Bugatti (that is as sexy as a top model). Hi Everyone:I've been looking at Tom's posts and there seems to be a reoccurring theme - the black enamel dials seem to be a favorite of everyone here (or at least, most everyone). They generally appear to have a clean look and they add to the vintage look of the watch.It's interesting to think that the 18K gold applied numeral was a more expensive dial and it was far more commonly sold than the enamel dials were. This begs the question - if enamel dials were more common, would we then prefer
