In contrast, a tachymeter scale is hyperbolic and typically has numbers that run in from infinity down to sixty. Both slide rule and tachymeter watches use non-linear scales. Being a classical musician, it's often handy to know the tempo (beats per minute) of a piece of music being played or rehearsed. A standard tachymeter bezel can be used to determine this, but it is typically impractical to count up to 60 beats.It is much more practical to count 6 beats, and have a stopwatch that runs 10x faster than normal.This watch does almost that.
