I'm a newbie. Does anyone know what the numbers mean in the model numbers of the new Hamilton watches. I've seen ads on a couple of Khaki models, similar in price, but one having mineral crystal, the other sapphire.
Tow watches I've fixed in the last week are in need of being put back in beat. One is the Lord Elgin Cranbrook, with a 680 movement. I put it back together, and unlike dang near every other watch I've worked on it did NOT start right up when the balance went back in. I had to give it a spin, and then it ran. When I timed it, instead of the 'ticks' every 0.2 seconds, the 'tick' is shorter than the 'tock', but they average out to 0.2 seconds, so the overall rate is pretty close. BUT it's not
