I've apparently been bitten by the vintage watch bug. Of the ones pictured below, there's only one that I didn't consider a gamble, and that was because its recent maintenance history came from a reliable source. Considering the prices I paid for the other three, there wasn't really much of a gamble involved, and only one seems to have an issue. The Elgin's minute hand doesn't seem to be moving, although the second hand is. It's also the only one I wasn't really sure I should bid on. Maybe
I recently picked up a good looking watch at my local watch store on a whim. I must concede, I know *nothing* about watches. The packing says "Nicolet 1886" and I've enclosed images of the watch. Is it authentic or was I ripped off? I need to know whether I need to bull up the gold'ol BBB.org and file a complaint about my local store.
