I have a khaki auto chrono in brown that I recently had a problem with. I went to wear it the other day, set the date and time, and then started to wind the watch. After 5-6 winds, the crown suddenly became tough and would spin the rotor as I wound the watch. I took it in to a local watchmaker this morning (he was recommended to me, but he is not an AD. He is a 3rd generation watchmaker who has been in the area for about 45 years) He said he would have to probably remove the movement to fix it, 
So like most of you likely do, I often ask around family etc if they have old watches that they don't want etc. I never really thought to ask my dad as he is not a watch guy at all and has never had an interest in them. Tonight, I thought why not ask!I gave my dad a call to see if he had any old watches laying around.
