Band too large for a wrist. Price on watch was good, but had to spend another [$]with ANOTHER vendor to get a band that would fit my wrist. You can't just put extra holes in the band as there is a seam that gets in the way.

Hello all. I'm looking into picking up a couple of time pieces in the near future. What are your thoughts on Seiko watches? I've looked at tons of lines, and I feel like they have the best options within my price range (no higher than 500). Would you recommend a different brand instead? Anyone know this Elgin model?

I've had this Elgin for a few years now, I've never seen another like it anywhere, I've always wanted to get information on it. The case is nickel plate with no wearthrough yet, the crystal does not look original as it does not have a perfect fit and the crown is a completely different color. The watch keeps very good time, well enough to be a reliable daily timekeeper if necessary. I believe that it was produced sometime in the Twenties. Thank you in advance for any information.
