Hey guys!I'm new to this forum. So here's my story...and some concern...I bought a watch at a non-Rolex dealer the other day. The company has been in town since 1978...they had a lot of Rolexes and seem like a respectable place. I purchased an Explorer II with the Oyster band. The timepiece portion of the watch is from the late 90s' and according to a serial on the bracelet, the bracelet is from 2005. I am not a collector of Elgin watches, really, but I have already two, both heirloom pieces (Dad's early '50s DeLuxe wristwatch; great grandpa's 1923 pocket watch).Soon to join these in the collection is a very neat steel "tank" from 1932, with original bracelet. Both have a great checkerboard or brick pattern (can't decide which, but probably the latter). Measures a rather slim but long 21 x 39mm. Should arrive in a couple of days.Reportedly has the 15 jewel Elgin grade 484 movement.
