I am new to collecting pocket watches, I have collected wrist watched for awhile now. I just recently purchased a 1904 Hamilton ball 999 18s open face pocket watch. It had a Hamilton double sunk dial on it. Could this be the original dial, all the ones I have seen has a Ball dial. I boght this from a retired watch maker and he said he has had it for over 50 years and he believed it was the original dial. Just wondering? Any help would be great. Thanks in advance!
Ok I have to admit that I know nothing of watches except that I can't afford much. I'm looking to get an everyday watch that is just as functional as it is nice to look at.
