Broken Omega Automatic: Is it worth fixing?

Hello, I am sort of a newbie when it comes to timepieces , so I'm obviously not going to be versed in timepieces at all, so I figured I'd ask a forum that might have a clue as to whether or not it's worth it to have my late grandfather's Omega Seamaster legitimately fixed.The main issue is that the knob has become separated from the stem, which has been "repaired" using superglue (Whilst it was being used by my dad when I was too little to inherit my watch) .Here is the watch as it currently is:

How waterproof should an old Seamaster be?

I have an old Seamaster (?c. 1962). It's currently missing a crown & (I think) stem. Assuming that it had these, how waterproof should it be? I am not looking to go diving, or even swimming with it, but should I be able to shower with it on?Thanks.
