New PO owner got a newbie questions

I just bought a brand new PO today and I am looking at right now and realize the casing in back does not line up is this normal ? Panerai Discounts (PAM 251)

What would be a suitable discount on a PAM 251 given the economic state at this time? Are there people flocking to buy a PAM 251 at full pop? Are they buying them at all?I love the watch and it would fit into my collection (white dial needed) nicely, but I am leary of spending $8800 which is full Canadian retail at this time. Is Panerai going to increase pricing anytime soon or hold steady until retail spending gains more confidence?
