It is believed the Bund strap was designed in the 1960's and was fitted to the Heuer chronographs supplied to the Luftwaffe ( German Air Force ). It may have been adapted from the WWI "Pershing strap". I have a couple of Bund straps in my collection and recently fitted them to two Christopher Ward C5 Malvern Aviator/Pilot watches.
