I was told that the watch I have had since I was 17 (now 45) was intended for the Asian market. It is a Seiko Sports 100 (8229-8019). I have for many years found it very difficult to find parts for it, maybe because of the age, but I was thinking another element that is impacting parts availability is the fact it was made for Asian market.
