I made the mistake of buying a Seiko with mineral crystal once (gorgeous watch, cruddy crystal ). And only once: It scratched within a week of purchase :mad:. It swore me off mineral crystal no matter what; now I only buy watches with sapphire.After my lesson, I wonder if I can bring myself to buy a watch without sapphire crystal. Of course, if there's a nice deal on a reputable brand (Seiko, Citizen) for under $150 or so, I'd probably consider it. However, I don't think I'd ever pay more than
...Finally got around to taking some pictures of the Hamilton Palisade from by prior post at A rather unusual acquisition...Here's the dial without the bezel. The crystal isn't the correct one for the watch and it distorts the edges. The dial is pretty worn and I think it was transfer printed with a small amount of radium in the numbers, rather than enamel inlay:The dial logo seems to match the engraving on the inside of the case:Would anyone know if International Dial has the proper dies to re
