Different tiers within the Hamilton line?

I've been looking at a lot of new Hamiltons recently, and they seem to range from mineral crystal, quartz movement field watches to sapphire crystal, precious metal automatics, with stops about everywhere between.Are the mineral crystal, quartz movement watches still of good quality? I would assume that they are along the lines of maybe a Seiko? I used to think a sapphire crystal was necessary, but I think for a daily wear watch that will be worn to and from work and in the office, a mineral c
