The other night I noticed that it was few minutes after midnight and the date had not yet changed. I got concerned and started staring at the date then suddenly at about 12:04 it changed. Y'all may remember my posting a couple months ago of an Elgin 670 movement I had acquired. It was damaskeened, and gold plated, and was one of 1000 Elgin made to commemorate the 50 Millionth Elgin watch? It had apparently been stripped out of one of the special 18kt cases which presumably was melted. Well, there's one up on The Swamp now - 220918529458. This one has all kinds of problems - the dial was redone incorrectly - now reads 'Elgin' instead of 'Lord Elgin' and the damaskeened and gold
