Hi all,I'm having my great grandpaps waltham royal worked on but my watch guy won't touch the dial at all. I've been trying to find a replacement for this one but can't seem to find one for the life of me. It's from a 12s and is from 1930ish. Here's some pics
I just finished reading this book and was facinated with what John Harrison went through to get his works recognized by the Longitude Board in the 1700's. Another interesting note is his first clock made entirely of wood is still working to this day. I did not realize the calculation of Longitude was so inaccurate then, and how determined one group was to have a celestial method dominate. it is an interesting read for those into horology.
