I got this beauty in the mail today. An orphan movement from 1898, size 0s, 17 jewels with a solid gold train, HC, grade 200, motor barrel, serial number 7911685, number 685 of 2000. It looks almost identical to the 19 jewel version. Somewhat rare movement, only 2000 of these grade 200 with 17 jewels were produced with a solid gold train in size 0s. The far more common grade 263 with 17 jewels (35,000 made) did not have a solid gold train, only a solid gold center wheel and were not motor barrel
I just purchase my submariner 16613 and its my 1st and only watch to date. I wear my watch pretty much EVERYDAY since my purchase and was looking for some info as to why a watch winders are so critical? I hope to purchase one or two more watches at some point and wanted to know if they sit without a watch winder if it is something I should be concerned about?
