New Guy needs advice on which service route to take. AT is dead!!!

I have a 2504.50 and it stopped 2 days ago. I can get it to make about 10 ticks before it stops again. I took it to a trusted watch guy and he couldn't get it started either. I purchased it from an AD 5 months ago. Should I send it to the AD or directly to Omega? I have read that the direct route can shorten the process but I also read that the US Omega Service stinks.
