Ok people. Here is the question. You just spent a chunk of money on a mechanical timepiece, which will never be perfectly accurate. But what is an acceptable accuracy before you send the piece back for adjustment.?Oris owners manual actually says NOT to send back the watch if it's within +/- 30 seconds per day.I've always thought that +/- 20 seconds per day was tolerable. Just won this Elgin in an e-bay auction and it just arrived. I don't know the model name or number. But the stepped bezel reminded me a little of the Hamilton Putnam, one of my grails. This one has a nickel case but does not show a lot of wear.My "winning" bid was $8.20! Postage was $8.50. It was the first time I've ever paid more for the postage then the watch!
