Question on Jazzmaster Quartz (Gent model)

I've been eyeing the Jazzmaster quartz (would really like the viewmatic). I don't want this particular watch for sports, mowing the lawn, etc., but what types of activities can this type of watch handle? Light, moderate?

Date set on Seamaster Pro 300?

I cannot get the date to set with the crown in the second position on my Seamaster Pro 300. It has the 1120 caliber. Tried rolling date forwardat 4pm. Does this caliber not have a date set function? I thought it did and am hoping nothing inside is amiss.
