I have two modern but broken watches.Than Hamilton Navy GMT...which just quit and a Timex Expedition with a cracked crystal.Just got off the phone with a shop who I've done business with over the years, mostly changing batteries when I'm too lazy and they do quartz repairs.He said he has plenty of crystals for the Timex, hopefully one that fits, and (get this) and I quote " we have a lot of ETA quartz movements in stock, I may be able to fix it while you wait if we have it." I sure hope so!
Most of you are aware that I've picked this up recentlythere's been some discussion relating to the originality of the dial (as it isn't shown in any of the Hamilton Dial cattledogs). I forwarded the watch to Rene recently and asked him to get some photos of the dial in close up so we can all have a look and discuss if needed.There was some discussion relating to whether or not the dial was embossed or whether it was just painted straight onto a blank flat dial.
