I'm a sailor, good for timing starts. Large face easy to read, chrono works well. Strap is a little short for me.

This watch should soon be extinct. The strap absorbed sweat from my wrist and it retained the odor. Smelled like an armpit after only a couple uses. The band fell apart quickly and there are no good options to replace it.

My First Omega: Vintage Seamaster Cal. 420

I got my first Omega the other day (a vintage Seamaster circa 1957) . Of course, while setting it, the crown falls out! Also, it was represented as a caliber 300, when it is actually a 420, and "runs great!" I am looking for something to start learning watch repair on anyway should I return it or torture it in my workshop? Decisions, decisions! So, that's why I'm making this a poll: return it or torture it, what would you recommend and why?BTW: Can anyone recommend a good book on watch repair?M

A little vintage

I'm wearing this now (ref. 2484, ca. 1958, case diameter 33 mm), having just got it back from my father, who had been keeping it "warm" for the past couple of years. I inherited it from my grandfather in the early '80s, but my dad and I had been sharing it the while (esp. while I was in school). I'm glad to have it back. Such a gorgeous watch!
