Until about 2 years ago, I've owned nothing but quartz. I just had my first experience with the regular servicing of an automatic, a 70's Tissot I bought on eBay a couple months ago, and the repairman told me to keep an eye on it in case it runs fast or slow. My question: isn't some regulating of a timepiece part of the service ($125) or is that something I should have asked for separately? Or, was he just being friendly and I'm worrying too much?
I want to buy an Explorer II. The sales woman priced it at around $5,900. She said that price is firm, and that she had no way of lowering it, because if she did, the store had the risk of Rolex pulling it's dealership from them.What she did offer me was the watch plus a $1,500 or so store credit, to be used on whatever else. I don't need another watch beside the Rolex, and I don't have a girlfriend/wife to give a bracelet/necklace to, so the store credit would be useless to me.Is that for real?
