Boschett: Non-Warranty Repair Question

I have an original Reef Ranger that developed a problem with the crown not screwing down all the way or seating properly. I own other watches with screw-down crowns, so I know to be cautious about the threads crossing etc. I have it wrapped up and in my safe, so it has not been exposed to the elements (or submerged in water). Without a good recommendation from someone I know/ trust, I tend to be suspicious of jewelery stores who also claim to do watch repairs.I have taken it to 2 different jew
