How to add a link?

I bought an Omega symbol for my girlfriend for Chistmas. I thought the band was too small, so I ordered a link. I saw a lot of very tiny parts, so I am nervous to try to take this band apart. Is this something I can do at home? Do I just remove a pin by pushing on it with a needle? Am I better off find a jeweler?

What should an 'overhaul' include?

My local watchmaker is pretty reasonably priced for overhauls,($165) but he takes ages (he had my last 3 watches for over 5 months!), and he doesn't appear to refinish the cases. I noticed one of my patients had a nice vintage gold Seamaster which looked brand-new, and he said that he just got it overhauled by another watchmaker. He then said something insulting about 'my' guy! In the meantime my wife's Mom gave me her deceased father's 60's era Seamaster and her deceased husband's 60's era
