How long should you let a mechanical watch sit without winding it up, or in the case of the Orange Monster and others that can't be wound, without putting it on a winder? I purchased this Illinois pocketwatch because I liked the way it looked and it was in dire need of care that it was unlikely to get if I had not purchased it. Between my purchase price and the cost of repairs I am certain I have far more into it than it is worth, but I am satisfied to know it is now a useful part of society. Interestingly, I have never had a watch, of any kind, that ticks as loud as this one does. Wow! It needed a new balance staff and a replacement jewel, was disassembled,
