I know Ebay is flooded with Ukrainian dealers taking pocket watches and converting them to wristwatches. However, I have a watch which is clearly too thin, and without the dust covers, but who knows. It has a new dial to look like a sub in color only, but the movement I'm sure is 1940 or so. The position of the sub seconds hand is suggestive of a pocket watch, and I can find similarities to other movements around the 1940 era. HELP!!!!DSCN2018 copy.jpgDSCN2105 copy.jpgDSCN2073 copy.jpg
Are 'big' watches a fad? And for our purposes, we'll say "big" is 44mm or larger. Are these a fad, or a change in our time? Case size has continued to grow, and you've got far more watches in the 44-50 size than ever before..So, are they a fad that'll go the way of leisure suits & bell bottoms or are they here to stay? If you think they're a fad, when does a fad become a style? 2 years, 5 years, 10 years, 50 years??? What do ya' think?
