I recently purchased my first Patek, a Calatrava 5127J, at the official boutique in Tokyo (late April 2013). Upon delivery, I was rather surprised to find that the movement was the 315/290, rather than the 324 SC. The dealer said he had taken delivery of the watch only last year (2012), so it hadn't been in stock that long. However, so far as I can tell, production of the 315 caliber was phased out as long ago as 2008, and the 324 SC was being installed in many Patek models from around 2005-6. D
Well its been a lunar month now since I was fortunate enough to buy the MasterJust thought to post a little information on what it's like so far to live with. First the positive.I still love the class looks of this timepiece, it smiles to me every morning and gets some wrist time everyday. Scott exlained to me some time ago about the engine; Valjoux 7751, it is both a workhorse and a thing of beauty.
