WTF,I received a high grade Elgin movement today in the mail with a very odd serial number, 17596310. The Elgin database states that this is size 0s, grade 354, manufactured in 1913, with 15 jewels. Well, the database is wrong. It is in fact a size 3/0s not size 0s. Elgin did not start manufacturing size 3/0s until 1914 but all serial numbers for size 3/0s should have a serial number higher than 18,000,000. I own a few of the very first size 3/0s Elgins, they made about 2,000,000 of them. I have
