I have a 353 calibre Seamaster of my father's, which the serial number dates to about 1952. I recently decided to start wearing it as an everyday watch. It was running slow about 2 minutes over 24 hours and, since I had no idea when it had been opened last, I finally took it in for a cleaning and oiling. On getting it back it ran great on my wrist, only losing a few seconds over my day at the office and continuing right up until I went to bed. I always give it about 10 winds to make sure it 
Does the 19AS stem wind? Mine does not, and I think it should. I have to put it on my wrist and then set the time later in the day. It has also been stopping periodically, like a day or two later on the wrist, as if it is not winding efficiently, and it has a pretty advanced winding system, as I understand, comparable to the IWC Pellaton system.
