I'm wearing this newly arrived Townsend picked up quite inexpensively...one of my lowball bids that held. The dial looks decent but very dirty with age. My watch doc should be able to clean it up nicely without redoing it. I sense a new theme developing for backgrounds so I thought I'd give it a try.
My best guess is that this was probably a showroom model and has been sitting in a drawer for the last 60 odd years.It definitely hasn't been much, if at all. It came with the original box (no directions though), with the Harland name and price tags. The box is one of the nicer ones I've seen Elgin produce.The watch itself is beautiful and it still has the original suede (I have a new suede band on the way so as to preserve this one) Elgin band and buckle and the price/stock sticker was still
