For years now, I've noticed a certain TV shopping channel promotes mega-hyped clearance events. But the watches are being sold at the usual prices, not steeply discounted as they would lead you to believe.For example, a Brand Y watch that sold for $800 when it was being aired on TV is now being sold - again - for $800. In between, the price jumped to $899. But the $800 price always returns when the vendor's show is scheduled.To me, this isn't a clearance sale - or a sale at all. Just more BS. Ha
I'm in the preliminary stages of deciding on my first chrono. This question may seem overly simplified but, not considering various models, would you prefer to own a Rolex Daytona or an Omega Speedmaster? It seems to me that the Speedmaster is more of an iconic watch, and that the Daytona gets by more on the reputation of the brand. That being said, and considering the price differences, I'm leaning towards the speedmaster.As I said these considerations are preliminary and I'd also like to hear
