I need some advice on crowns used in pre war Hamiltons that use the 6/0 movements with a Tap 8 stem. I would like to know what the types are called and where to get them ...if they are still around ??I thinks mainly there are two types A) the ones that are used on the models with a tube attacthed on the case like the "Gladsone & Hastings" and B) the ones that intergrade with the bezel and back of the case like the Dixon & Putnam, they have a sort of sleve that fits over the stem .......c
My wife surprised me with an early birthday present today:I've wanted one of these since I first saw a picture of one a few years ago....what a cool, classic look!Another view:A shot of the cal. 69 movement:Looks clean and runs. However, when I put the watch on my timegrapher, it's clear she needs some TLC...the amplitude is weak and the beat error is bad:SO, as much as I want to wear this one, it's off to my watchmaker for service.....thanks for letting me share my newest pickup with the group
