Well, for a really silly reason. One of my guilty pleasures is reading Clive Cussler's Dirk Pitt novels for pure escapism and suspension of disbelief. And what does Dirk Pitt wear? You guessed it - a Doxa. I wonder how many Doxas have been sold because of Clive Cussler. I'll have to go back and re-read one of them to figure out what model he wears, but I seem to remember it being referred to as his trusty watch that has basically been heavily abused, but can always be relied on.
I am probably losing a load of karma points for this article. Part of me feels bad because I am in a sense directly criticizing artist Ulli Kampelmann, though I mean nothing personal. I just find her entire collection of watches so bad looking, and in just a funny way, that I had to show them off. I am sure her other types of art work are better.?
