Flying watches nearly always have some heritage behind them. ?The Bremont MB series, for example. ?You'll only get your mitts on an MB I (the rare one with the red knurled barrel) if you're fortunate' enough to eject from your aircraft in a Martin Baker ejector seat. ?That's impressive enough, but how about a watch that was worn by members of THE most successful WWII RAF squadron, 312 – the Czech Squadron'? ?We're measuring success by flying ability here; there are still seven Spitfires
My father sent his 1982 JLC ultra thin (33 mm) with date to the factory through a local AD. The AD called and said it would cost about 1250 to fix the movement (it had not been worn in years), 1180 to clean the dial, and it would take up to 3 years to do this. Three years sounds like a really long time and I only thought Chronographs cost a significant amount to repair. Is this an excessive amount of time and is this cost unreasonable? Thanks
